People say Goodbye to the old Ganns Middle Valley Elementary
Hundreds of people took a walk down memory lane Sunday, as they said goodbye to the old Ganns Middle Valley Elementary School.
The 79-year-old school opened its doors to allow community members, past and present students to tour the school before it is demolished in June.
The new Ganns Middle Valley Elementary is being built directly behind the old school.
The multi-million dollar school will be energy efficient and house up to 1000 students.
Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger said the new school will give students more opportunities through the use of technology.
“Ganns Middle Valley Elementary will be consolidated with Falling Water Elementary, which again is extremely old school. So it’s going to give our young people an opportunity for some of the latest and greatest technology in the classrooms as well as a much better learning environment.”
The new school is set to open in August.
