Police charge suspect with McCallie Avenue shooting

UPDATE: Lewis has a long list or previous arrests, but none were particularly violent. Most are drug and driving charges. He did plead guilty and got pre-trial diversion on a charge of simple assault when he was 18 years old in 2005 (see total charges below).

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police announce they have made an arrest for the McCallie Avenue shooting.
The suspect is 36 year old Alexis Lewis.
He has been charged with criminal homicide, reckless endangerment, and possession of a firearm during the commission or attempt to commit a dangerous felony.
The shooting happened two weekend ago outside Mary’s Bar and Grill on McCallie Avenue.
Three people were killed and 14 injured in the shooting (some victims were injured by fleeing cars).
Lewis was last arrested for DUI in 2018.
Garrian King has also been charged in the investigation, but not for the shootings.
He faces charges of possessing a gun as a felon.
