UPDATE: Brainerd Rd death ruled as homicide

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Investigators with the Chattanooga Police Department have ruled the death of an unresponsive male located in the 3800 block of Brainerd Rd. to be a homicide based on the findings by the Hamilton County Medical Examiner.

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525. Callers can remain anonymous.

The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga Police are investigating an ‘undetermined death’ that occurred in the 3800 block of Brainerd Road late Saturday night.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the area on a person shot call.

Officials say officers located two parties on the scene – one deceased, one uninjured.

Police have identified the deceased as 20-year-old Marcus Bradfield.

However, Chattanooga Police say Bradfield did not suffer any obvious gunshot wounds.

According to police, a witness told officers the two were walking along Brainerd Road when the witness heard what sounded like shots fired and then found Bradfield unresponsive.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
