Police look for answers to Murphy, N.C. shooting

MURPHY, North Carolina (WDEF) – Police are investigating a shooting in Downtown Murphy that left one person injured.

Police report that the shooting occurred around 12:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Police believe that Brian Crisp opened fire on Sunrise Street in Downtown Murphy, leaving one individual with a small caliber gun shot wound to the head.

The victim, who is yet to be identified, was airlifted to a local hospital for treatment.

Police were able to track the suspect to Polk County where they apprehend him.

Crisp is reported to have had the firearm used in the shooting and a large amount of methamphetamine in his vehicle when he was detained by police.
