Police: Meth taking parents charged with aggravated child abuse of 2 month old

CLEVELAND, Tennessee (WDEF) – A grand jury has indicted a Cleveland couple with Aggravated Child Abuse or Neglect.

The indictments follow a Cleveland Police investigation that began on January 4th.

They were called to the Crown Inn Motel to check on the welfare of a 2 month old baby.

DCS workers noticed a large bruise on the baby’s head.

The child suffered multiple skull fractures and broken bones plus a brain bleed that required surgery.

The baby also had meth in her system.

Both parents, Nicholas O’Donnell and Brittany Newman tested positive for methamphetamine.

And both remain in jail.

Police are still looking for more information in this case.
