Police recover car from shotgun carjacking overnight

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police say they have recovered the vehicle taken during a carjacking Tuesday night in Bonny Oaks.

It happened just before midnight in the 7700 block of Holiday Hills Circle.

Police responded to a “shots fired” call to find a victim had been shot in the face with pellets from a shotgun.

The injuries to 23 year old Fredrick Phinizey were not life-threatening.

The suspect also took a 2015 Silver Nissan Versa from 21 year old Khalilyah Smith, which has now been recovered.

That suspect is still at large.
