Police respond to threat at Collegedale Seventh-day Adventist

COLLEGEDALE, Tenn. (WDEF) — A local church was startled over the weekend from a threat during their morning service.

The Collegedale Seventh-day Adventist Church on the campus of Southern Adventist University got an alarming call from a suspect Saturday.

Police are saying the anonymous caller alluded to a bomb or active shooter threat.

Collegedale Police evacuated the church and were able to get everyone out safely.

They also blocked off traffic near the building during the evacuation.

Officers were able to clear the building and ensure there were no explosive devices or threats inside.

Collegedale Police worked with Chattanooga Police, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Tri-Community VFD, and Hamilton County EMS in this response.
