Police: Suspect becomes victim after returning to the scene of the crime last night

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Chattanooga police made two calls to an apartment complex near the interstate last night.

The first was an assault at the apartment on North Concord Road just after midnight.

The suspect had fled the scene by the time officers arrived.

But when police left to get a warrant for the suspect, they say the individual returned.

Police say this time someone shot the assault suspect.

The original assault suspect was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries.

And the suspected shooter fled the scene.
