Polk County motorcyclist dies in crash, according to THP report
POLK COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — A car and motorcycle crashed in Polk County on Saturday, leaving one person dead.
The crash happened at about 2:50 p.m. on December 16 in Benton.
A Tennessee Highway Patrol report explained that a motorcycle was traveling north on Highway 411 when a Hyundai SUV was stopped at the intersection at Lillard Road.
The report stated that the Hyundai attempted to cross the northbound lanes of Highway 411 to go south.
The Hyundai pulled out in front of the KTM motorcycle, causing a collision.
A Tennessee native, 79-year-old William Goldsby was driving the motorcycle. The THP said Goldsby died in the accident.
A 48-year-old Tennessee woman was driving the Hyundai. She was also injured in the crash. The report shows no charges have been filed against her.
