Pops on the River returns
CHATTANOOGA, Tn. (WDEF) The sky was lit up with red, white and blue tonight as families and friends gathered for the annual Pops on the River event.
It’s a chance for everyone to enjoy a picnic on the lawn, listen to beautiful orchestral performances, and of course, end the night with a spectacular fireworks display over the river.
“I have not been in several years usually I go home to Mississippi this time of the year, but because it’s my birthday tomorrow, I actually came today for one of my former students to see him play in the CSO ” said Newshawn Calloway.
Families came prepared with blankets and picnic baskets, ready to enjoy the performances.
Pops on the River is a cherished tradition that brings the community together and the community is excited to have it back.
“Pops on the river is an incredible event. It’s one of those events in Chattanooga that we didn’t have last year due to funding, but now we are able to have it this year. This is one of the biggest events that brings our community together” said Director of operations Breck Stewart.
