Video captures Red Bank arrest

RED BANK, Tennessee (WDEF) – Cell phone video surfaced from when Red Bank Police responded to a disturbance at a graduation party over the weekend.

Allen DeBerry is communicating with people through his dad’s iPad.

He is doing this because his phone was seized by police for evidence.

Early Sunday morning Red Bank Police officers were called to assist security staff working a graduation celebration at the Gallery.

Police say when they arrived they saw a group of people pushing security staff.

“I saw the first officers pull up and they started running to the entrance, but they were cussing and swearing and when that happened. I just pulled out my phone and started recording,” DeBerry said.

According to police some people refused to leave and threw bottles at officers.
DeBerry was one of four people arrested. They face different charges including disorderly conduct, criminal trespass, resisting arrest and inciting a riot.

He says officers didn’t handle the situation well.

“They definitely did wrongdoing when they came to arresting someone who held their hands up after they told them to leave and their hands were up and they were about to get in the car, macing, a lot of swearing and cussing. it is really offensive to some people,” DeBerry said.

The Red Bank Police chief says he thinks the officers acted appropriately and he is glad no one got hurt.

DeBerry is hoping the charges get dropped.

“There was a lot of injustice that went on and so. We are just going to have to see,” he said.

The Red Bank Police Chief says he agrees with the disorderly conduct charge, but is uncomfortable calling the incident a riot. He says that is up for the courts to decide.
