Preparations are underway for tomorrow’s Military Memorial Ceremony
Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Preparations are underway for Saturday’s Military Memorial Ceremony at UTC’s McKenzie Arena.
TDOT has already announced Chattanooga’s SmartWay cameras will go dark from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Saturday, 8,500 people will pack McKenzie arena for the Military Memorial to the 5 victims of the July 16th shooting.
The list of attendees includes Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam, the Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus, and Vice President Joe Biden who is expected to speak at around 2:45 p.m.
As for those of you that are going to try to attend the event, seating is available on a first come first serve basis with the doors opening at 11 a.m.
Parking will be available at Engle Stadium where Carta will be providing shuttles to the Round House starting at 10 a.m.
Once you reach McKenzie, Gates 1 and 3 will both be used as entrances where you will be met with airport style security measures.
They are discouraging guests from bringing any kind of bags; citing they will add additional delays.
The mayor’s office tells us the ceremony will be absolutely beautiful and something you will not want to miss.
