President Obama delivers eulogy for state lawmaker and pastor killing in Charleston shooting

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) – President Barack Obama has delivered a passionate discourse on America’s racial history in a eulogy for a pastor and South Carolina lawmaker shot dead in a historic African-American church.

Obama said the gunman who killed Clementa Pinckney and eight others thought his action would incite fear and deepen racial divisions — but in Obama’s words, "God has different ideas."

Obama ended by joining the choir and the crowd in singing "Amazing Grace."
