Previewing the final Riverbend Acts announced including local rising star Kane Brown

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Kane Brown will check off another career milestone this year.

First major label recording. “Chapter 1” debuts in top ten in March. Check.

First major tour. Dig Your Roots tour with Florida Georgia Line this summer. Check.

And now a public coming out in his hometown. Riverbend 2016. Check.

Kane Brown will play the Bud Light Stage at on Sunday, June 12 at 8:15 PM.

If you are unfamiliar with his story, here is the capsule version.

Kane is a true homegrown talent, moving around a lot with his mom as a kid.

He attended LFO (where he sang in the choir with Lauren Alaina) Ridgeland, Soddy-Daisy and Red Bank.

After trying out for American Idol and the X Factor, he decided to go his own way.

Kane began posting his songs, some covers, some originals on YouTube.

His breakthrough came last September when a George Strait cover got 7 million views, setting up the October YouTube smash of his own song, Used to Love You Sober.

Riverbend will also pay tribute this year to Prince.

The Purple Xperience will play the Bud Light Stage at 8:15 PM Thursday, June 16.

Not only are they a Prince tribute band. It is led by Doctor Fink, who played keyboards in early Prince bands, including The Revolution.
