Prison guard charged for lending tools to escapees
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (AP) – Authorities say a New York prison guard charged in connection with the escape of two killers admits providing them with tools, paint that was placed in frozen hamburger meat.
But Gene Palmer says he did so unwittingly and never knew the convicts planned to bust out.
Prison tailor shop instructor Joyce Mitchell is also charged with helping them break out.
They vanished June 6th.
