Pro Cyclists Hope National Championship Race Returns to Chattanooga

Chattanooga-(WDEF) USA Cycling just finished up a three year run in Chattanooga on Monday.

Now the question is, will they be back?

The contract is up to host USA Cycling’s next national championship races.
Chattanooga is once again one of the finalists.
And two riders we spoke to are keeping their fingers crossed that Chattanooga will win the bid again.
Said pro cyclist Chris Johnson,"If there’s anything that the teams can do to facilitate a race here in the future by showing our support for the area, we’re happy to do it. Really this is an event we look forward to coming to every year, and Chattanooga is a great host for it."
Added pro cyclist Tayler Wiles,"Yeah you know it will be really sad if it’s not in Chattanooga anymore because I do love it here. I love the town, and I love the people. The course is incredible. I would love it if it stayed. But if it doesn’t, I will still come back and visit Chattanooga."
