A structural beam heavily damaged after a car crashed into the Providence Thrift Store.

The car came through the front left side of the store, destroying a window and running into a structural beam.

Structural engineers were on site this morning evaluating the integrity of the structure.

Roy Johnson, the President and CEO of Providence Ministries, said, “Well a lady was pulling into park to go in Wendy’s and another car was pulling out, she said she just got confused and instead of the brake she hit the gas, and she came on in, and thankfully nobody was hurt.”

The store will be closed for an indefinite amount of time as repairs are made, which could be a couple of weeks.

Nearby Providence Ministry locations in Chattanooga and Lafayette remain open.
