Public Works driver honored for rescuing a woman from a wreck
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – The city of Chattanooga is honoring an employee who rescued a woman from a crash.
Jermaine Blackstock drove up on an overturned vehicle on East 3rd Street.
He was the first person on the scene.
A woman was trapped inside.
He broke the rear window and freed her from the SUV.
Blackstock is not usually a first responder.
He drives a hoist truck for the Public Works Department.
“His selfless actions reflect the highest standards of public service and highlight the dedication of Public Works employees to protecting and serving the community in critical moments.”
