RAM Clinic in Cleveland this Weekend

CLEVELAND, Tenn. (WDEF)- Those who need medical care will have the opportunity to do so in Cleveland starting tomorrow.Remote Area Medical, or RAM for short, will be offering free dental, vision, and medical care tomorrow and Saturday at the Saint Therese Catholic Church at 900 Clingan Ridge Drive in Cleveland.

Patients do not need identification to show up for care as the clinic’s purpose is to reach those who otherwise would not be able to access critical care they need.

RAM Clinic Coordinator Heather Rhodes said of the clinic’s mission that, “Our founder Stan Brock was injured out in the bush and it was a 28 day walk to the nearest doctor and he saw the need then. He decided to make it his dream to bring Remote Area Medical to anyone and anybody to provide services for anyone and anybody who needed it.”

The parking lot for the event will open at midnight tonight and doors for the clinic open 6 a.m. tomorrow. RAM advises that those waiting prepare for a long wait and have medication and other comforts with them while waiting.

Everyone who shows up will get access to medical care but will have to choose between dental and vision care. Everyone will also have to answer a CDC COVID-19 questionnaire when they arrive but masks are not required at this event. For more information on this event, visit https://www.ramusa.org/ or call 865-579-1530.
