Red Bank Elementary School Celebrates Walk to School Month

RED BANK, TN (WDEF) – The cool fall weather didn’t stop dozens of local students from dancing their little hearts out Friday.

5th graders from Red Bank Elementary School took part in a flash mob, unbeknownst to their principal.

It was part of International Walk to School Month.

These students just added their own twist.

Their goal was to encourage people to be physical and active every day.

Haley Brown, Principal at Red Bank Elementary School, says, "Some schools have chosen to walk to schools in the morning, but we decided to get our whole student body involved and enjoy the nice fall weather on a day that we’re having a little bit of fun this afternoon and enjoying halloween, and wanted to get out and enjoy some exercise as well."

The students also walked to a nearby park as part of the event.
