Red Cross Sends Workers to Texas Flood Zone

Chattanooga (WDEF) – The Tennessee Region of the American Red Cross is sending 31 volunteers to Texas to deal with tornado and flood relief.

That includes Thomas Myers and Larry Miner from the Chattanooga office.

Red Cross workers are providing a safe place to stay, food and water, relief supplies, health services and emotional support for victims.

They are now operating 37 shelters across the state.

The agency says you can donate to the Disaster Relief fund at www.redcross.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or text REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

And the Red Cross is holding its first 24 hour Giving Day campaign on Tuesday, June 2nd.
