Remembering April 27 Minute by Minute: 2:30 PM Philadelphia, MS

PHILADELPHIA, Mississippi (WDEF) – Around 2:30 PM, a monster tornado popped up over Philadelphia, Mississippi.

It killed three people there and injured another half dozen.

But this storm was far from over.

Experts now say that one storm cell traveled through Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee.

Along the way, it dropped multiples tornadoes that churned up 267 miles of ground, including two EF4s and two EF5s.

They included the tornadoes that hit Ringgold, Apison and Cleveland, before killing more people in Greene County Tennessee above Knoxville.

This one storm killed 71 in four states.
