Reminder: Watch for school buses beginning tomorrow
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – School buses hit the streets again on Wednesday morning as a new year begins in Hamilton County and other nearby areas.
First Student is reminding drivers what that means.
And it comes down to three simple things:
— Never pass a school bus from behind
— Stop for stop arms (they have flashing lights and stick out from the side of the bus just to get your attention)
— Maintain a safe distance (kids are popping off the buses and you never know what they’ll do after that)
“The lack of attention by some motorists is causing close calls and injuries to children, which is why First Student is reminding the community about the importance of being aware and alert around school buses.”
