Report admits Cleveland Officer tested with expired test kit
CLEVELAND, Tennessee (WDEF) – The DUI blood test given to a Cleveland Police Detective over the weekend was done by an expired test kit.
That is according to a Catoosa County deputies account of the incident.
The Cleveland Daily Banner is reporting today on the arrest report from Sunday.
Detective Taylor Thompson was charged with DUI after being pulled over by an East Ridge officer, who then called Catoosa County for help.
The report says Thompson claimed to have had four beers during the evening of seeing a concert by the band Five Finger Death Punch and then going out to Clyde’s with three other officers.
The other Cleveland officers were in the vehicle with him, but were not charged with anything.
The report says the deputy only discovered the expired test kit after Thompson was released, but he sent it to the GBI for processing anyway.
