Report: UT Athletics adds $464 million to state economy

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – A new report by an independent research firm shows that University of Tennessee Athletics contributes hundreds of millions of dollars to the state’s economy.

The report shows that UT Athletics adds $464 million to Tennessee’s economy.

That number is broken down into $319 million spent by visitors and fans and $145 million spent by UT Athletics on operations.

Football game weekends alone added up to $294 million for the state with each average weekend bringing in $42 million.
