REPORTS: UGA QB Justin Fields transferring to Ohio State
ATHENS, Ga. (WDEF) — Multiple reports confirm that No. 5 Georgia’s back-up quarterback and former 5-star recruit Justin Fields will transfer to Ohio State.
Fields was 2018’s No. 1 recruit in the nation.
Georgia’s offense used Fields as a utility option, playing him in 12 of 14 games. The freshman quarterback threw for four touchdowns and no interceptions during his time under center. He also rushed for 266 yards and four touchdowns.
However, Georgia did not use Fields in the Sugar Bowl loss against Texas.
Fields will compete against another 5-star QB Tate Martell to be Dwayne Haskins’ successor. Martell, like Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm, had his senior season documented by Netflix for the show QB1: Beyond the Lights.
