Republicans win two state runoffs in Georgia

ATLANTA (WDEF) – Two republicans easily won runoffs on Tuesday in Georgia.

Both races were very close in November.

But both Brad Raffensperger and Chuck Eaton won the cabinet level races with around 54% of the vote.

Raffensperger will take over a controversial position as Secretary of State.

He follows governor-elect Brian Kemp, who was accused of suppressing democratic voters while holding the office that manages elections in Georgia.

Kemp continued to hold the office while he ran for Governor.

Now Raffensperger will defend the state against lawsuits filed by Kemp’s challenger, Stacey Abrams.
