Revved Up Rebels Roll Into Tuscaloosa For SEC Showdown With Alabama
Ole Miss announced their arrival as an SEC contender last season when they beat Alabama. Now they’ll go for two straight over the Tide, as they bring a revved up Rebels offense to Tuscaloosa on Saturday.
It was pandemonium after Ole Miss upset Alabama last season.
But has the loss stayed with the Tide? Depends on who you ask.
Said linebacker Reggie Ragland,"Of course. Anytime you take a loss, it’s always going to be on your mind. It’s going to be a great match-up this week."
Reporter-"How much has the loss in Oxford last season stuck with you guys?"
Said defensive lineman A’Shawn Robinson,"It ain’t stuck with me at all. It’s a new year. New season. New everything. So we need to go out there and do what we’re supposed to do."
The Tide rolls into the game averaging 36-points a game, which is less than half of what Ole Miss is scoring per game.
Said Tide coach Nick Saban,"Obviously, when you score 75 points a game, you’ve got a pretty dynamic offense in a lot of ways. They’ve got a lot of good players. They’ve got a great scheme."
Saban is anxious to see how his offensive line handles the Ole Miss defense.
"The Ole Miss defense is very, very good. Their front is very active. They’re very quick. I think it’s going to be a challenge for us because we did not pass protect real well last week. We had some issues with speed rushers in the first game."
Added offensive lineman Ryan Kelly,"We’re a young offense. Lot of guys don’t have a lot of playing experience. So our communication has to be key."
