Rhea County Fatal Car Crash

Dayton, TN (WDEF) A Wednesday morning crash in Rhea County leaves one person dead and another in the hospital.

It happened on U-S 27.

Sources say the victims were an elderly couple Gil Kyle and his wife Anna.

Officials say they pulled out of the Walmart parking lot and collided with a tractor-trailer head-on.

Gil died at the scene, but Anna was taken to Erlanger.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not hurt.

He’s been identified as Fredrick Barrett.

Police are still investigating.
