Rhea County man charged with tax fraud in vehicle registrations

SPRING CITY, Tennessee (WDEF) – A Rhea County Grand Jury indicted a Spring City man on tax evasion and forgery charges this week.

Revenue agents arrested 30 year old Daniel Allen Arnold at work.

The case involves vehicle registration.

The indictments claim he evaded taxes by fraudulently registering four vehicles and two boats in the county.

“The Department of Revenue promotes voluntary taxpayer compliance by educating taxpayers, aggressively pursuing criminal sanctions and demanding accountability when taxpayers engage in fraudulent activity,” said Revenue Commissioner David Gerregano. “This indictment underscores the department’s ongoing efforts to enforce Tennessee’s tax laws.”

Arnold could face two years in prison and a fine if convicted.
