Rhea County Traffic Fatality
Dayton, TN (WDEF) One person is dead after a single tractor trailer accident in Rhea County Friday.
Troopers say 70-year-old Vern Delane Hunter lost control on State Highway 68 and went off the side of Grandview Mountain.
He was not wearing a seat belt, and was thrown from the vehicle.
He suffered a head injury and died on impact.
State Highway 68 was still closed as of Friday night.
Traffic is being re-directed to U-S Highway 27 while the wreck is cleaned up; which troopers say should take a few more hours.
