Rick Davis told to not talk to opposing attorneys in initial court appearance

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- Rick Davis made his first court appearance Thursday morning on just one of many charges against him.

Davis was arrested in January and charged with passing worthless checks.

This was before his Gold and Diamonds business on Brainerd Road was raided last month.

Authorities allege he failed to return a family hairloom after finding out it was stolen.

Davis then proceeded to be arrested again for threatening opposing attorney Buddy Presley, Jr., as he stated in an affidavit that Davis threatened to kill him.

That particular matter came up during the brief hearing in Hamilton County General Sessions Court Thursday morning.

A prosecutor told Hamilton County Judge Tori Smith that, “Obviously, (Davis should have) no contact with the Presley family.

Judge Smith told Davis, “I don’t see any mention of pre-trial. No contact with any alleged victims okay sir.”

Davis nodded that he would.

There is an estate sale scheduled for this Saturday at Davis’s store as it gets liquidated.
