Ridgeland Names Central’s Cortney Braswell New Head Football Coach

Rossville, GA-(WDEF-TV) Central head football coach Cortney Braswell is leaving the Purple Pounders to take the head coaching position at Ridgeland.
It’ll be a homecoming for Braswell.
He’s a native of Rossville, Georgia, and many of his family members attended school at Ridgeland.
Central was 0-10 before Braswell arrived, and he took them to the playoffs in each of his two seasons.
Now he’s taking over a Ridgeland team that was 11-1 last season.
Said Braswell:”Everybody expects us to win and that’s something that is exciting. We delt with a lot of different things from Central that had nothing to do with actual football. So here the football is great. We’re going to try to take it and continue the mission. Certainly a passing of the torch. We want to improve on things where we can, and we want to set this community on fire for Ridgeland football.”
Braswell replaces Wesley Tankersley who left Ridgeland to take the head job at Stephens County.
