River Games Chattanooga happening August 13th-16th

CHATTANOOGA, TN.-   The largest action sport festival in the south is coming back again to Chattanooga this year here at Ross’s Landing. The free festival is bringing extreme sports to downtown, and at the same time using it to promote environmental action.

“Games is basically a three day celebration of extreme sports outdoors and music right here downtown at the Chattanooga Riverfront here at Ross’s Landing. We combine many different, extreme sports, including different forms of high diving highlining weights, surfing rock, climbing skateboard ramps into the water cramps into the water so much more.” says CEO and Founder of River Games, Travis Sims

If extreme sports are not for you that won’t be a problem, the free festival will also have music for all to enjoy.

“At night we have three nights of free live music so we’ve got some internationally recognized electronic music artists that will be here performing for free all weekend long.” says CEO and Founder of River Games, Travis Sims.

What people don’t realize is that behind the festival is a bigger message.

“So I started my company in 2017 extreme vertigo with the hopes of using extreme sports as a catalyst to promote environmental action so through our efforts since 2017 we’ve been able to pick up 40,000 pounds of trash and glass from waterways all around the world since I’ve been in Tennessee, we picked up over 15,000 pounds of trash.” says CEO and Founder of River Games, Travis Sims.

This all stems from another event that Travis created called the Cliff Cruise. This was a ten day Cliff jumping and trash clean up music festival, they would travel to different states and host a competition while also cleaning up the water.

“I brought it to Tennessee and I believe 2023 and work together with the city and they’re like we love your vision. We would love to help you grow this thing in the city has been amazing and outdoor department here has been absolutely incredible and you know the best people to work with.” says, Travis Sims.

River games welcomes everyone to come down and enjoy what they have to offer. Make sure you head down to the Riverfront in August to watch what these athletes can do.
