Collegedale Freedom Festival

Celebrating America's 250th year of Independence

COLLEGEDALE, Tenn. — Fun, family, and fireworks– all things which could be found at the Collegedale Commons for the local Freedom Festival.

People travelled from all across the county to celebrate Independence Day with the Collegedale community.

The Commons was full of local food vendors, pop ups, and various small businesses for guests to enjoy. One vendor and local Collegedale native, Jason Burton, noted how wonderful it was to see local business thriving.

“…[In] the world of vendors, it ends up being a big family basically. A lot of us work the same circuit, so it’s awesome when you go to set up at a place like this and you see familiar faces,” said Burton.

Another local, Sydney Barker, notes how much she enjoys getting to walk around and support these small businesses in her community.

“I love it. I love all the booths. I love that people can create a business and come and sell it and that other people love it. People really love just walking around– I enjoy getting a lemonade or a sweet tea and strolling to see what people have. I might buy some honey or jewelry or whatever they are selling,” Barker said.

There was a live band, photo opportunities, and plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the evenings celebration of our Nation.

“I think that people are really excited about it,” said local business owner and Festival organizer, Tiffany Miller. “They’re just wanting to celebrate, and so people are going to be coming out with the US spirit– with the flag and everything– and just be ready to celebrate together.”
