Road closures near Chattanooga due to winter storm
UPDATE:
CDOT’s Justin Strickland shared gave an update on Tuesday at 8 p.m.
New locations that are closed or restricted:
- Ochs Highway on the Tennessee side between Red Riding Hood Trail / Ochs Highway intersection and Fleetwood Drive have reports of icing conditions and my close. Use extreme caution or utilize the Ochs Highway Extension into Georgia as a detour.
- Suck Creek Road is closed due to icing.
- Westbound I-24 had multiple incidents reported. Use Broad Street / Cummings Highway / Birmingham Hwy as a detour.
CDOT asks to contact the Chattanooga Police Department Non-Emergency Number at 423-698-2525 to report locations with ice, trees, or wires down.
TUESDAY:
TDOT’s Rae Anne Bradley shared a road closure at 6 p.m. in Marion County.
Highway 156 is closed near Shellmound Road due to road conditions.
MARION COUNTY: SR 156 is closed at LM 24.7 (near Shellmound Rd) due to road conditions. Crews will work to treat and reopen as soon as possible.

MONDAY:
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — For some areas around Chattanooga, the snow is falling heavy. In others, its already starting to freeze on the roads.
There were several crashes reported Monday morning due to the weather.
These roads are currently closed in Hamilton County:
- 5600 Hunter Road – one lane closed due to crash.
- Highway 111 Northbound – REOPENED.
- Montlake Road – REOPENED.
- 300 McCallie Ferry Road
- 500 Leggett Road
- 620 Lee Pike
- 4240 W Road
- Shoal Creek Road/Palisades Drive
- 900 Roberts Mill Road
Closures in Alabama:
- Alabama 117 near Jackson County 14
Closures in Sequatchie County:
- Cagle Mountain closed to through traffic.
- Fredonia Mountain closed to through traffic.

It happened on Highway 60 in Bradley County.
