Roberts pleads not guilty in September murder

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The suspect charged with murdering a Chattanooga Businessman and Baylor alum had his arraignment hearing Friday morning.

Darryl Roberts pleaded not guilty in a virtual hearing from the Hamilton County Jail where he is still in custody on a $5 million bond.

Roberts has been indicted on charges of first-degree murder and illegal possession of a firearm as a felon in the death of Christopher Wright.

Video from his preliminary hearing in October showed Roberts shoot Christoper Wright next to Patten Towers after an argument in September.

Roberts will be back in court in March.
