Rooker walks off Lookouts, Chattanooga beats Barons 3-2

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga Lookouts finish off the home series with the Birmingham Barons Saturday night.

Barons don’t waste any time. Zack Collins puts one through the gap to allow Luis Basabe to come in from second. Birmingham up 1-0.

Starting lefty Lewis Thorpe brings out the gun in the second inning. He fans Danny Mendrick… then Bryant Flete… and Alfredo Gonzalez finishes out the side for the Australian pitcher. Thorpe struck out 8 in just four and two thirds innings.

Barons sneak another one in in the fourth. Trey Michalczewski puts one deep enough to score Nicky Delmonico. Barons lead 2-0.

Chattanooga does finally score in the sixth, thanks to a Ryan Walker 2-RBI single. Then in the ninth, Brent Rooker lines a double to center for the walk off win, 3-2 the final.
