Rope rescue conducted for elderly man who fell 50ft

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – An elderly man is rescued after falling 50 feet at Missionary Ridge.
Chattanooga Firefighters responded to call at 310 N Crest Road on Missionary Ridge at 8:19 PM where they discovered that an 88-year-old-man had fallen and was at the bottom of the steep embankment.
A rope system was used to help raise the man up in a Stokes basket.
Fire officials learned that the man was trying to retrieve a ball from a neighbor’s yard when he fell.
He has been transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
