Rotary Rocks Chattanooga celebrates award winning first year

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – A local Rotary club is celebrating a successful first year after receiving multiple honors at this year’s Rotary District Conference.

Rotary Rocks Chattanooga earned several awards recognizing its work in community service, youth engagement, international projects, and membership growth.

Club leaders say the recognition reflects the impact members have made both locally and around the world while remaining committed to serving others.

The club’s efforts also support its mission of empowering women and young girls throughout the Chattanooga community.

Kimberly Race, president of George Communications, said the awards are a reflection of the dedication shown by club members throughout the year.

“That is what Rotarians are about, rolling up our sleeves and making a difference in our community,” Race stated. “We do that with just over 30 members in our club. You will see us somewhere in the community serving every month.”

Members have participated in a variety of service projects over the past year, working to improve lives both close to home and abroad.

Club leaders hope the recognition will encourage more people to get involved in volunteer service and discover ways to make a positive impact in their communities.

They say the awards are not only a celebration of the club’s first year but also motivation to continue growing and serving in the years ahead.
