Runner passes away after being hit by a car

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – The former employer of a runner hit by a car in Chattanooga on Saturday says he’s passed away.

Zap Fitness from North Carolina posted on social media about Cameron Bean’s death saying he will be missed.

Bean was hit while running on Moccasin Bend Road.

Chattanooga Police said the victim was running against the flow of traffic near the shoulder.

The driver told police she didn’t see the runner because of the sun was in her eyes.

She veered off the road and hit the victim.

Chattanooga Police say they continue to investigate, and charges are pending that investigation.
