Runners excited for Haig Mill Lake Park improvements
DALTON, Ga. (WDEF)- The city of Dalton is working to replace one of its primary walking trails.
Their Parks and Recreation Department announced that portions of the Haig Mill Lake Park trail will be repaved.
This is to help make some challenging sections of that trail more pedestrian friendly and easier to access for cyclists.
Other sections of the trail will be allowed to remain in its natural state.
A runner we spoke with, Agustin Olivas-Castillo says he is excited for the renovations.
He said, “I think it’s gonna be a great addition, especially for those who really like and enjoy biking… Matter of fact whenever I bring my siblings here and always tell them that I have this feeling of getting some type of special energy from from this trail exactly.”
The natural sections, along with the park, will remain open while the new sections are being constructed.
