RV Fire on Frost Street

CHATTANOOGA, TN.- On July 4th, around 10:30 p.m., the Chattanooga Fire Department responded to a large RV fire.

“Getting through the barrier of fireworks and firemen. It took a little time to get around to see this, and when I saw it, it was gone.” says Chris Lawson, owner of the RV.

Chris Lawson was enjoying his Fourth of July at a neighbor’s house when he saw fire trucks headed towards his home. When he finally arrived at his RV he was devastated.

“Most of everything I had was in this, and this is what I was gonna do my bucket list in and my mother.” says Chris Lawson.

After purchasing this RV just a month ago, he now has to start from ground zero. Chris and his mother were finally ready to do something new and different together, now plans have to now be put on hold.

“I just got my mother out of hospice care and I was fortunate enough to get her to come home and it meant a lot to her to be able to get out of Chattanooga then and get around maybe see a few things. I’m not sure how much time she’s got left. We both wanted to have quality time and memories.” says Chris Lawson.

Chris however, suspects that this is no accident. The Chattanooga Fire Department told Chris that the fire did start inside the RV. Lawson, who has helped many people around the community get back on their feet, was told by neighbors that they saw someone the night of the fire come out of the RV.

“I left the window open a little bit to let it air out and I hate to speculate and I’m supposed to speak to them tomorrow but something happened. It’s been sitting here for three days and we checked the batteries. There was nothing, you know, about the battery compartment that caused a couple people that were here last night seeing someone and I guess we’ll be talking to him as soon as possible.” says Chris Lawson.

Lawson is in disbelief on how someone could do this, and he hopes to find out the truth behind it all.
