Sale Creek house fire claims lives of 3 dogs and 1 kitten
SALE CREEK, Tenn. (WDEF) — Firefighters responded to a house fire in Sale Creek Saturday night, August 10, 2024.
At 10:25 p.m. dispatch received a call from a female, reporting her home was on fire, and there was possible entrapment.
Sale Creek Volunteer Fire Department (Sale Creek VFD) responded to the scene, along with Hamilton County EMS (HCEMS),and Rhea County Fire Department.
When units arrived on scene, 50% of the one-story residence was covered in fire, coming from behind the house.
The homeowner alerted personnel that everyone made it outside the home.
Firefighters began attacking the fire from inside the house, and had the fire under control around 11:00 p.m.
No one was injured during the incident, however, the family lost three dogs and one kitten to the fire.
Officials from Sale Creek VFD reported the house a total loss.
Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
