Salvation Army announces Mardi Bra donation supporting unhoused women

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Major Douglas McClure with The Salvation Army in Chattanooga is announcing the organization’s annual Mardi Bra donation drive.

This donation event focused on providing undergarments and other essential goods to women experiencing homelessness.

The Mardi Bra event will take place Tuesday, February 12.

Organizers say the drive is designed to support women in the unhoused community by collecting items that are often overlooked but deeply needed.

Major McClure says the event is about dignity and care.

“We just want people to remember people are still part of our community. This is a chance for women, especially during this event, to be celebrated and recognized. There are other women in the community who deserve that same level of care and the same things that other people have.”

More details about the event will be released closer to the date.
