Schedule changes again for Frazier Avenue resurfacing & restriping

UPDATE (October 14, 2024) —  The Frazier Avenue resurfacing and restriping project has been moved back again.

Previously, the project was moved back to October 16, 2024, beginning at 8:00 a.m.

Now, CDOT reported the project is slated to begin Monday, October 21, 2024, at 8:00 a.m., lasting an estimated 4 days.

Once the work begins, an occasional single-lane closure will take place, with flaggers directing traffic around the work areas.

Eastbound and westbound will also be reduced to a single lane during daytime work.

The brief, occasional full closure of nearby roads will also take place.


CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) —  The schedule has changed to resurface and restrip Frazier Avenue.

CDOT reported they were notified by the paving contractor that the schedule would change due to a conflict.

Restriping and resurfacing of Frazier Avenue between Market Street and Barton Avenue will be begin on Wednesday October 16, 2024, at 8:00 a.m.

A subcontractor will be on site October 14 & 15 to lower and raise sewer manholes within the area to prepare for Wednesday.

There will be an occasional sing-lane closure, with flaggers directing traffic.

After 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, eastbound and westbound lanes will be reduced to one lane.

Brief occasional full road closures of adjoining streets will also be expected.

CDOT also said street parking will be restricted within the active work areas.
