School bus loaded with students catches fire in Alcoa

ALCOA, Tennessee (WDEF) – An east Tennessee school bus erupted in flames this morning as it was headed to classes.

It happened in Alcoa, Tennessee south of Knoxville.
WVLT TV reports that the driver noticed smoke on the bus as he was nearing the end of his route around 7:10 AM.

There were 29 students on board.

The driver quickly pulled over and got them all off.

Then the bus erupted into flames.

The bus was a total loss, but none of the students were hurt.

They ranged from kindergarten to high school.
