Scuba Claus to return to Tennessee Aquarium

Santa will swim with fish, wave to families publicly for first time since 2019

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) — For the first time since the pandemic began, Scuba Claus is returning for public shows at the Tennessee Aquarium.

Santa will be swimming alongside native Tennessee species of fish to wave to families and guests in attendance.

The Aquarium’s Thom Benson says he’s thrilled to see families already excited for upcoming holiday shows.

“I think the one thing that the Aquarium offers is just that convenient space where everybody can get together, relax and enjoy some time together — that’s throughout the year,” Benson said. “But especially during the holidays, there [are] probably some family members, perhaps some grandparents or extended family that are in town for a short period of time during the holidays. It just makes it a nice escape from the house to come downtown.”

Kids will be able to see Scuba Claus in action at 2 p.m. on December 3, 10, and 17.

The Aquarium will also start running screenings of “The Polar Express” beginning Thanksgiving weekend.
