SEC Media Day: Georgia Bulldogs; looking to defend that National Title

ATLANTA, Georgia (WDEF)- “You don’t change, you don’t change the way you go about things. Try to learn, your trying to find a better way to do things. I was very Fortunate to work with one of the best and the best at doing it after winning one. A lot of those same habits, we had already created,” said Georgia Head Coach Kirby Smart.

Coach Smart said he doesn’t know what people didn’t see in North Murray graduate Ladd McConkey.

“He loves the game. He has this passion for the game. It’s contagious,” said Smart.

“Strong character just hard working guys. Who are very good. I don’t want to give those typical pigeon homes that follow us. Sneaky fast,” said Georgia QB Stetson Bennett

After winning a title Bennett made the decision to return. He says he wants to complete in the top level of College Football.

“I wasn’t gonna get drafted high last year. So what was the guarantee start in the NFL, probably pretty low. I think it’s the biggest honor in the world to go out with the G on the side of my helmet,” said Bennett.

Name image and likeness has become a huge hot topic in college football. Bennett turned to a former SEC QB for advice on how to handle NIL.

“I went into that Manning passing academy and one of the things I took from I was Payton was talking to us, he said when he was in the league for making money comparing to NIL, when I did those I made sure that my training and my preparation increased because he said he wasn’t gonna be, wasn’t gonna be out in a situation where somebody would question, has he made it, he’s not the same person anymore,” said Bennett.
