Sequatchie County reassigns long time high school principal
DUNLAP, Tennessee (WDEF) – The Sequatchie County High School principal was reassigned to another position in the district.
Tommy Layne had been the principal since 1994. He also is a graduate of the school.
Layne served on the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association’s board of control since 2002.
The Director of Schools says Layne was transferred to a teaching position at Griffith Elementary School. Administrators are not giving any further details about this situation.
Parents and students protested the decision Tuesday afternoon at the school complex.
They held up different signs expressing their feelings. They want to know why Layne was reassigned.
